Fashion, Cinema & Beauty: The Devil Wears Prada is Back

Twenty years after the cult first movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is already creating major fashion buzz ahead of its cinema release on April 29, 2026.

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the world of Runway — and once again, fashion is at the centre of the story.

From the first red-carpet appearances to the trailer, several trends are already standing out:

👠 Valentino Rockstud heels
🧥 The men’s vest
💙 The blue dress
🤍 Shirt + corset combinations
🩶 The grey power suit

But the inspiration goes further than fashion.

The new film also brings a fresh vision of hair and make-up: more natural, more modern, more refined. Less “overdone”, more real. A cleaner glamour that reflects today’s beauty codes — luminous skin, stronger individuality, and elegance with character.

For hairdressers and make-up artists, this is more than a movie moment.
It is a reminder of how cinema shapes trends, revives icons, and influences what clients want to wear, feel and express.

✨ Fashion is storytelling.
✨ Hair and make-up complete the character.
✨ And beauty professionals bring that vision to life.

Intercoiffure Asia: A new chapter begins

A global community, connected through regions

Founded in 1925, Intercoiffure Mondial stands today as one of the most prestigious organisations in the professional beauty industry, bringing together leading hairdressers from over 40 countries. At the heart of its structure: its Regions.

More than geographical divisions, regions act as essential bridges — connecting national Sections to the global vision of Mondial. They foster collaboration, encourage exchange, and ensure that shared values are carried across borders while respecting cultural diversity.

They are where ideas meet, where friendships grow, and where a global community becomes truly connected.

Asia & Mondial: A story of connection and growth

The relationship between Asia and Intercoiffure Mondial has always been marked by deep friendship, mutual respect, and long-standing collaboration.

Throughout the years, influential figures such as Yaoki Tanaka, Masako Tanaka, Yoshiaki Yamano, Eizo Kakimoto, and Junji Yamano have played a key role in shaping this dynamic and inspiring region.

Asia’s journey within the organisation began in 1970 with the integration of Japan, followed by a steady expansion across the region, reflecting both its creative strength and growing global influence.

Asia has also hosted key moments in Intercoiffure history, including the 1978 World Congress in Japan, where John Pfeil appointed Alexandre de Paris as President of Intercoiffure Mondial, as well as subsequent congresses in Singapore (1991), Tokyo (2004) and Osaka-Kyoto (2017).

A leadership transition in Tokyo

On the occasion of the Asia Congress held in Tokyo from April 19 to 21, a new chapter has begun for the region. After nearly two decades of dedicated leadership, Eizo Kakimoto hands over the presidency, marking a significant moment of transition for Intercoiffure Asia.

Eizo Kakimoto: A Presidency built on unity and human connection

Appointed in 2008 following the passing of Yoshiaki Yamano, Eizo Kakimoto led the Asia Region with a clear vision: to unite countries beyond borders and strengthen the sense of one Intercoiffure family.

Among his proudest achievements is the successful organisation of the Intercoiffure World Congress in Japan — twice — reinforcing Asia’s position on the global stage.

Yet beyond milestones, his leadership was deeply rooted in human values:

“Through Intercoiffure, connecting with friends around the world through the beauty industry and meeting so many wonderful people has been a true treasure.”

Guided by principles of human connection, mutual respect, friendship, and shared growth, he continuously worked to strengthen unity across the region.

“For the Asia Region to be respected worldwide, it is essential for each country to come together beyond borders and support one another as one Intercoiffure Family.”

Through congresses and regional gatherings, he created opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

As he passes on the responsibility, his message remains clear: “I hope that the spirit of family will continue, and that the bonds among members will grow even stronger.”

He also emphasises the importance of continuous excellence: “Each country must continue raising the standards of beauty within its own nation. These efforts will strengthen the value of Asia as a whole and establish its position in the world.”

Hiroaki Kinoshita takes the lead: A vision for the future

As Hiroaki Kinoshita takes over the presidency, he brings a vision shaped by both respect for the past and ambition for the future.

For him, this new role represents both a great honour and a significant responsibility:

“On a personal level, I see it as an opportunity for growth, where I can take on new challenges while drawing on my past experience. Professionally, I will contribute to further enhancing the organisation’s value and delivering greater value to our members across the diversity and dynamism of the Asia region.”

Looking ahead, his vision is clear:

“The Asian region will continue to experience rapid growth and transformation. My ambition is for Asia to evolve beyond a growth market and become a global leader in beauty culture and innovation.”

To achieve this, he emphasises the importance of collaboration:

“We must strengthen collaboration while respecting the unique characteristics of each country, and build a sustainable, value-creating community.”

Key priorities for the Region

His presidency will focus on three core pillars:

  • Enhancing member value through meaningful events and networking opportunities
  • Strengthening regional collaboration, encouraging knowledge-sharing across countries
  • Developing the next generation of leaders, ensuring long-term sustainability

At the same time, he is committed to building on the legacy of his predecessor:

“I have deep respect for the strong foundation established before me. My goal is to carry this forward while introducing new initiatives, particularly by advancing digitalisation and deepening collaboration across regions.”

A message to the community

His message to members — both across Asia and globally — reflects the essence of Intercoiffure:

“Each member is at the heart of this community and its most important asset. In times of rapid change, the value of learning from and supporting one another continues to grow. I sincerely look forward to growing together with all of you and exploring new possibilities ahead.”

A word from Mondial

Peter F. Pfister expressed his gratitude:

“Thank you to Eizo Kakimoto for his years of dedication, his vision, and his excellent organisation. His contribution has been essential in strengthening Asia’s role within Intercoiffure Mondial.”

Continuity, Friendship, and the Future

This transition reflects what defines Intercoiffure at its core: continuity, transmission, and the strength of a global family.

From legacy to vision, from experience to new energy, Intercoiffure Asia continues its journey — united, inspired, and forward-looking.

Press conference in Paris

A vibrant moment of exchange, vision, and international collaboration.

Intercoiffure France, led by its President Sylvie Grammatico, held a press conference at the Intercoiffure House of Nations on April 14, 2026. The objective was clear: to provide an update on key activities, share recent initiatives, and enjoy a privileged moment with invited press and partners.

The event gathered a curated selection of media representatives and industry partners, including Eric Tiffaillas/Wella France, Bérénice Claude and Catherine du Villard/Estetica France, Eve Laborderie/Brunette Coiffure, Brice Thiron/L'Éclaireur des Coiffeurs, Aurélien Doly/Takara Belmont France, Elodie Gallet de Santerre/GDS Design, Laurence Blais/Hairtrends, Gérard and Pierrette Charbert/Jacques Seban, Jonathan Garcia/Ikosoft, Mickael Charrier/CNEC, reflecting the strong interest and engagement of the professional press around Intercoiffure France’s initiatives.

The French agenda remains particularly dynamic, highlighted by the annual Soirée Blanche de la Coiffure, taking place in Saint-Tropez on July 5. This year’s edition will welcome an exceptional international line-up on stage, including Thierry Bordenave (Men’s Artistic Director, Intercoiffure France), Miguel Estelrich (Artistic Director, Intercoiffure Latin America Region), Joakim Roos (Chairman, Intercoiffure World Academy), Linda Schuster (Artistic Director, Intercoiffure Sweden), and Alexis Ferrer (Spain).
