Super Saturday & Night of the Stars
INTERCOIFFURE MONDIAL 2016 – PRESS RELEASE
Super Saturday & Night of the Stars in Paris
With magical stage productions, glamour shows and personality awards, the Intercoiffure Mondial hair fashion event in Paris celebrated creativity and the art of hair styling for a whole day and gala night. The elite of the hairstyling industry, beauty experts and top managers from the hair cosmetics sector gathered in Paris for Super Saturday and the fascinating Night of the Stars.
Spot on! Focus on Fashionista – For the first time, the visitors from 30 countries could witness the development of a trend collection at the event. The four looks, K-Pop, Adagio, Desert Rose and Tecvolution, were revealed by the Intercoiffure Mondial artistic team live on stage: a fantastic interplay of hair, make-up and styling.
K-Pop is loud, colourful and crazy with asymmetrical graphic cuts, blue-grey colour effects and lowlights or highlights in azure – all cut to precision. Adagio is a more poetic look in blonde and powdery nuances with creative plait styles – girlishly playful yet casual at the same time. Desert Rose is all about ethno elegance and XL volumes: striking, creative up-dos and gold shimmering make-up details. Tecvolution focuses on the avant-garde and showcases futuristic 3D fashion by Iris van Herpen. The matching styles included beautifully sculpted red hair and futuristic up-dos.
In addition to fashion expertise, Intercoiffure Mondial is also synonymous with innovative training. President Klaus Peter Ochs: “We are a global network of top hairstylists with the shared aim of permanently developing the hairdressing trade. With our ‘I’m getting trained in Paris’ seminar concept, we’re raising the training and education bar to new heights.”
After the official ceremony that saw outstanding Intercoiffure members and partners being presented with their awards, the stage in the historical Salle Wagram was transformed into a power catwalk for Intercoiffure Mondial’s young talents. The youngsters from the Fondation Guillaume impressed the audience with a hair show full of passion and imagination. Purple Rain, an homage to the legendary musician Prince, was a spectacular hair fashion explosion – as mesmerising, rebellious, inspiring and dazzling as the pop icon himself. The looks included short boy cuts in red and long wavy styles with extensions, blonde girls with mega volume, glam-rock quiffs and kooky up-dos in pink and purple. Purple Rain styles are carefree and experimental – masculine cuts are merged with feminine silhouettes, resulting in transgender looks. Colourful extensions transform girls into sparkling glamouristas.
Futurism and classic looks, poetry and coolness. Magic moments in hair fashion at Night of the Stars. Three creative gala shows were the highlights of this extraordinary, celebratory evening: Arctica by Intercoiffure Mondial President Klaus Peter Ochs, Spontaneous by Intercoiffure Japan and Fashionista by the Créateurs de Mode from Intercoiffure Mondial.
Dreamcatcher and hair fashion artist: With his Arctica collection, Intercoiffure Mondial President Klaus Peter Ochs picked up on a contemporary issue, demonstrating that here too, beauty is all about balance. The Arctica styles included white-blonde cascades of hair reminiscent of frozen waterfalls, gelled short cuts that looked like frozen ice and experimental up-dos based on fantastical ice sculptures. Hair with power volume and graphic clarity.
Good-time girls: Spontaneous by Intercoiffure Japan was elegant and experimental at the same time. Silvery-grey shimmering graphic cuts, bob styles with pink nuances and blue accents. Playful and avant-garde. Futuristic braiding with purple highlights, and cascading ponytails with flowery hair adornments. Ultra-feminine with spectacular effects.
Beauty, fashion soul and a touch of provocation: Fashionista by the Créateurs de Mode. The international creative team caused a sensation, captivating the audience with each of its four looks – K-Pop, Adagio, Desert Rose and Tecvolution. Even though they’re familiar with them, fashionistas are continually breaking all the fashion rules and creating innovative, individual styles: wild, brightly coloured graphic cuts; feathery layered blonde hair and soft, wavy looks; power volume and piled up curls; architectural silhouettes with streamlined up-dos.
Hair fashion as an emotive form of expression paired with the perfect craftsmanship. Intercoiffure Mondial stands for visionary trends, expertise and hairdressing excellence. And there’ll be plenty of innovative inspiration at the next global event too: the world’s best hairstylists will be presenting spectacular, inspiring prestige and gala shows at the 22nd World Congress of Intercoiffure Mondial in Osaka/Kyoto from 15th – 17th May 2017. Here the spirit of Japan will be meeting the international fashion world of Intercoiffure Mondial: Vision of the Elite.
